Acceptance Inspection Checklist After Well Drilling Completion

Acceptance Inspection Checklist After Well Drilling Completion

After the completion of a water well construction, a systematic acceptance inspection is the final and most crucial step in ensuring you receive a qualified product. As the owner, you should focus on the following aspects of the actual results and use them as the basis for payment and acceptance.

I. Water Quality and Sediment Content Acceptance (Core Health Indicators)

Visual Inspection:

Clarity: After well flushing, collect water directly from the wellhead using a clean container. The water should be completely clear and transparent, without any visible suspended solids or impurities.

Sediment Content: Let the water stand for several hours; there should be no significant sediment accumulation at the bottom of the container. Continuous sand production indicates defects in the well construction process.

Sensory Judgment: The water should have no noticeable odor or discoloration.

II. Water Yield and Water Level Dynamics Acceptance (Core Functional Indicators)

Static Water Level Measurement: After stopping pumping for a period of time (e.g., more than half an hour), measure the stable depth of the water surface in the well. Record this data; it is the "baseline water level" of the well.

Pumping Test (Mandatory):

Duration: Use the agreed-upon water pump for continuous, stable pumping for at least 4-6 hours.

Observation Points:

Water Volume Stability: Is the water output continuously stable, without significant attenuation?

Dynamic Water Level Stability: During pumping, does the water level remain relatively stable after dropping to a certain depth (forming a "dynamic water level")?

Recovery Capacity: After stopping pumping, how long does it take for the water level to recover to near the static water level? The recovery speed reflects the aquifer's recharge capacity.

III. Well Structure and Documentation Acceptance (Legal and Technical Basis)

Obtain Completion Documents: Request the construction company to provide a concise "Well Completion Report," which should include at least:

Well location coordinates and final well depth.

Well structure schematic diagram (indicating the location and depth of casing, screen pipe, filter layer, and sealing layer).

List of main materials used (well casing, filter material type, etc.).

Static water level, dynamic water level depth, and pumping test conclusions.

Signature and seal of the construction company.

On-site Verification: Compare with the report and confirm that the wellhead protection device (well cover, well platform) is secure, elevated above the ground, and effectively prevents sewage backflow. IV. Payment and Warranty Confirmation

Payment is contingent upon successful acceptance: We recommend linking the final payment (e.g., 20%-30% of the total price) directly to the successful completion of the acceptance process described above. If the acceptance criteria are not met, the final payment will not be made.

Clearly define warranty terms: Before final payment, confirm in writing the warranty period (usually 1 year) and scope (e.g., issues such as insufficient water volume or continuous sand production due to well construction defects).

Summary: Seeing is believing, data is key, and documentation is essential.

Acceptance is not simply "checking if there is water," but a comprehensive verification of water quality, water volume, construction process, and documentation. Your right to acceptance is based on the contract and scientific standards. Please adhere to the principle of "test the water first, then accept, and then pay." A clear acceptance process and complete completion documentation are the best guarantee for your long-term, worry-free water supply.
